An arteriogram or angiogram is an X-ray procedure used to diagnose the severity of a vascular condition. Angiograms are considered the gold standard for evaluating blockages or narrowing in the arterial system. The procedure detects blockages using X-rays taken supplemental to injection of a contrast agent. This procedure helps our team effectively diagnose the problem and plan the next step while in our angiosuite. Angiograms are performed with the patient under moderate sedation. The procedure may last 15 minutes or up to over an hour, depending on the severity of the case.
